My 2nd last post introduced you to The Unified Tribe and I mentioned I was having trouble joining the site. Well as I suggested, if it was meant to be, it would happen.

And it did.

I became a member of the Unified Tribe and what a blessing it is. It is the mentoring/coaching/community I have been looking for, for months. It is the best thing I have got involved in to date, it is so impressive, I can’t rave about it enough. Katie Freiling is a gem.

Basically it’s a social networking site that involves Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon and Digg. The Unified Tribe is based on the foundation of reciprocity, where you share other people’s content and they share yours in return. Thus giving you better indexing, Facebook fans, Twitter followers and your blog posts to be stumbled upon and dug. It is brilliant, the results have been amazing.

We are generating so much more traffic, selling more clickbank products and my blog posts are getting read all over the internet.

How you submit your content on The Unified Tribe is this:

You search through their categories to find content you like, you then share it on Facebook, Twitter, Digg and/or StumbleUpon. Every time you share 5 articles you are awarded 1 reciprocity point. This then enables you 1 content submission. The tribe then find your content and share it with the mentioned sites. It is basic social networking 101. Before you know it your material is out there working for you, generating traffic back to your site.

Yesterday I wrote a post on the Poker Power Blog on how poker players can increase their profits through online poker sites. Now I’m not suggesting you take up online poker to generate more income, but the principles I suggest are extremely relevant too a lot of aspect in life. It involves the ability to increase your chances of making money with discipline.

I wrote about online gaming sites offering bonuses to open new accounts. Basically, most sites will as much as double your initial deposit to coheres you to join. The ploy here by these sites is, they believe most punters will lose/spend all of this deposit and more often than not deposit even more, thus increasing revenue for the particular site. I suggested in this post, you can turn these deposits into a greater chance of success by making money with discipline.

NOW, the key focus here is on the word discipline!

Regardless of whether you are trying to lose weight, keep fit, save money or in our case earn money, a certain level of discipline will create a better opportunity for success.

I am a culprit of lack of discipline. I could make excuses like, I didn’t have time or it will be alright this once, but this will only slow down my journey to achieve my goals. For example, I am trying to generate an income from internet marketing and blogging is one of these avenues I am trying to do so. I set myself the goal of trying to post at least 2-4 articles per week. Some weeks I achieve this easily and some I don’t. Yes I can be too busy, but I can only blame my discipline for not posting as often as I promised myself.

I admit I am guilty and I am working on my discipline, but I will have to continue to do so if I want to succeed. And I do. However, I do realise discipline is something you can work on gradually. For example, if you want to start going to the gym, chances are if you start going 5-6 times a week, you will get tired and bored with the idea and soon give it away. The better option is to build up to it gradually, with maybe 1-2 times a week and keep the enjoyment as you increase your work load. Similarly, I thought it best to try and avoid attempting to find the time to blog every day. Not only is it hard to find the time, but also difficult to keep the posts informative and interesting.

Now a massive hindrance of discipline is of course, procrastination and it will stop you achieving most of your goals. Procrastination is sometimes also seen as a result of fear of rejection or achievement and is best combated with a few simple steps.

• Don’t focus on the negative or what may go wrong, focus on the positive and what you want to achieve
• Start to believe in what you want to achieve and think about how you will feel once you’ve achieved it
• Remember, it doesn’t matter about mistakes. Mistakes are good because we learn what not to do in the future.
• Finally, remember to enjoy whatever it is your doing.

The Ebay auction finished on Sunday, the book only went for $1.04. Not overly impressive, however, 3 books sold and we covered the costs and got a little advertising from it.

I have also mentioned that I started other free blogs that linked to our main Poker Power Blog and one of those blogs opened up our adsense account and added the small amount of $1.71 over the last week or so. The blog is The Poker Power which is through blogspot who are Google’s free platform, they seem to be the only free blog platform that allow you to add adsense. So I will be monitoring that to see if it is fruitful.

ANYWHO, the reason for this posting is the follow up of Katie Freiling’s Unified Tribe. I mentioned this was being launched last week and looks like a great opportunity for networking for online marketing and eventually finding more ways to make money online. I have been receiving emails of the testimonials and the ‘don’t miss out’ banter. I’ve followed the website and from all measures it looks like it maybe quite successful. However, I cannot seem to buy into the program. They have a first time one off price of $25 to join for the first month, however, the shopping cart just doesn’t seem to allow the purchase of the $25. I am quite disappointed and have tried contacting Katie, but don’t seem to have any joy.

I am a strong believer of things happen for a reason and if I am meant to get into this internet marketing idea, something will present itself. I am also hoping that one of the viewers may have come across a solution and offer it as a comment below regarding the Unified Tribe. Remember, Katie Frieling, was the internet marketer that was recommended to me by Yaro Starak, the blogging guru I mentioned in an earlier post. For those of your that can count you may notice there is a slight change in the estimated figures for the profit made on the sale of Poker – The Power of Body Language.

Along with the success of starting to make money online there are always going to be small errors that can become costly. Learning from these mistakes and solving the problem quickly will result in more success. It is a simple error of judgment on my behalf, but quite common when starting out. Thankfully it has only cost us $0.25 per book. However, it just goes to show the importance of doing proper research and getting everything right before you start. Otherwise these slight miscalculations eat into profits.

So where did I make the mistake. I didn’t verify the price of postage, I simply guessed. I can give excuses as to why I misquoted, but they are irrelevant. I guessed that an A4 size manuscript would be covered nationwide in Australia for $2.50. In actual fact, it cost $2.75 and as this is my mistake, we wear the costs. A mistake I will not make again.

You may say that it’s only $0.25, but it is the lesson that needs to be learned. Any miscalculations eat into profit. Today it’s $0.25, tomorrow it could be $1000.

Looking to the bright side, with just over 2 days to go on the ebay ads we have covered our costs of the ads and made a small profit. BUT, if I didn’t make it clear enough in the second last post, the whole concept of putting the manuscripts on ebay was to try and drive traffic back to the website through the content of the ad. On top of that, we have at least 2 customers we can now approach for testimonials.

I am currently working on the Firepow idea and along with that I am looking into the Unified Tribe through Katie Freiling which was launched last night, but I will keep posting on those two things soon.

Blogging has become more and more popular amongst online entrepreneurs and we are seeing new tools developed to assist in this process being released, what seems like every week.

Firepow Blogging Software seems to have an overall effectiveness in accomplishing the three primary aims of blogging – creating a blog, managing it or maintaining it, and getting traffic to it.

OR the crazy abilities to monitor your blogs success, like being able to split test the results of different posts, monitor your traffic through in depth reporting (utilizing Google analytics), monitoring your search spider activity, the popularity of your posts, the terms people are searching on your site, and more still.

Oh and I could also tell you that if your into blogging and you don’t, you’ll probably regret it big time.

Break out the champagne, turn up the music and get your dancing shoes on – it has finally happened.

Money has been made through internet marketing – YEAH!!!!!

As our followers should be aware, Nicole and I wrote an e-book, Poker – The Power of Body Language, and have been trying to market and sell it over the past however long. We are still working on our official first sale of this electronic product through different internet marketing techniques such as Clickbank, Lulu and our own website.

BUT, a friend of my suggested a great idea. We had about 10 copies printed in A4 paper (bound) to use for marketing and offloading to possible publishers. After doing extensive research we have come to realise we would be better off self publishing and getting the book printed in China. Therefore, we had no real use for the A4 copies other than show them to friends and family.

This is where the internet marketing idea comes into play. Try selling them on a little site known as Ebay to make money and advertise your website.

Great Idea!

So, I placed two adds on ebay.

1. One copy with an auction price starting at $0.99 and a BUY NOW price of $7.45

2. Six copies with a FIXED price of $7.45

I purposely chose to try both options as research to which selling method would work better and how we could make money. As Ebay is great as a form of internet marketing, they just happen to be having a special on at the time and the first option only cost $0.20 to run for 10 days. The 2nd option was a little higher at $2.88 + $0.39 for each book sold. I have taken into consideration all these costs in the results above ($3.98) and the book sold was from the fixed price add. Thus, every book sold between now and the end of the ad is profit, bar the $0.39 for the other 5 fixed price books.

There is also a specific reason I only put in 6 copies into the fixed price add, Ebay has different pricing structures based on what and how many items are to be sold. The pricing bracket for fixed price items jumps up considerably for items totaling more than $50. So 6 books came in just below that and as I had no idea how many books I could sell in the 10 day period, I thought it best to start low. This will obviously keep the costs down.

As internet marketers we are always looking for new and improved ways to increase profits and decrease costs, I just thought of an idea that may work. I put the fixed price at $7.45 with postage of $2.50 totaling $9.95. If you could get away with it with your buyers, I could look at setting the price at $6 and have postage of $3.95. This would have enabled me to include 8 items instead of 6. Or go one step further, which I think would be pushing it, and price the book at $5 with postage of $4.95, allowing 10 books for the same advertising costs as six (minus the additional $0.39 for each extra book).

So many thanks to my internet marketing friend, Terry, for suggesting Ebay. Ebay is obviously just another option for internet marketers to make money online. When you can combine a couple of these options it can become even more powerful. I have even found what looks to be a great e-book which combines Ebay with Clickbank which may be worth looking into it’s written by Avril Harper who is a Powerseller of Ebay, so she obviously knows what she’s on about (just click on her name).

Finally, 6 weeks into the blog, money has been made. I thought it may take longer, but the only way from here is up. As days go by I learn more, read more and apply more. Just a quick post, I got an email from Yaro Starak (the blogging expert) today, recommending I check out the website of Katie Freiling. She is offering some great tips on internet marketing and specifically social networking through blogs. I have listened to 3 of her videos and just started reading the report she gives out free.

It is extremely current, as of last week. Which I find very rare, as most marketers suggest they are offering the latest thing then you find out the offer started 3 years ago. But as far as I can tell, the videos are only days old as of today, the 24th April 2010. So I advise you to check it out.

I believe, as I look further, Katie is in the health industry in MLM. Probably not something I’m interested in, however, it looks like she has a lot of valuable information to offer in regards to internet marketing.

One tip she does recommend is start a blog with your own name. ie dannycrouch.com, unfortunately this one is already taken. I will work on coming up with a different blog name though.

So, two tips for today. Check out Katie’s site and start a blog in your own name.

This is a quick posting of what not to do. I have never been kicked off a blog platform before, but today it happened.

I set up a secondary blog through word press for Poker Power. My thought process was to post similar articles to the ones on our official Poker Power Blog, in the hope it may generate traffic and interest to our website. Now on our website I avoid any affiliate marketing material to do with internet marketing and making money as our site is targeted at helping poker players improve their poker skills. We believe our visitors don’t want to bombarded with ads and marketing material that is not focused to their topic.

However, I took the opportunity to post all sorts of affiliate marketing banners and ads to the free wordpress blog. I have found that most of these free blog platforms already advertise on your blog (and keep the revenue), so I thought a few ads and banners would just blend in and maybe I could get a piece of the pie.

Well, wordpress caught on really quick and have taken down my blog. So I just thought I would let you know, because I don’t want you to get the idea that this is allowed. I know it is in their terms and conditions, but who really reads them.

Lesson learned!

If you have been following this blog or have just found it for the first time, you maybe thinking, why would I want to continue reading this Blog on internet marketing if he is claiming to have not earnt any money? Good question. I am not like all these other blogs and sites that claim they have made hundreds of thousands of dollars through their magical methods. I want to document the real time it actually takes to make money. I am being honest. Beginners need to be told the truth. And you need to know you’re not going to succeed overnight. It does get hard at times and does become disheartening, but I am determined to make this happen. I can feel it in my core, it is only a matter of time before that dollars column at the top ticks over. I am confident once it does, it will start to steamroll.

Yesterday I touched on affiliate marketing through Clickbank, as I suggested there are many sites you may choose to affiliate with. The choice is yours. As I explained, Clickbank is very straight forward, you open and account then market products on your site to earn a commission when visitors buy the products. The option to take affiliate marketing to the next level is through sub-affiliates. This is where you affiliate with a site and then generate sub affiliates through your links. If someone joins through your affiliate link you then make a smaller commission on the sales they make. This is called two tier affiliate marketing.

I have found a site that focuses on internet marketing, Low Stress Income. I have joined their affiliate program and will attempt to sell their products for a commission. As a secondary generator, I will also attempt to have visitors join their affiliate program through a banner I will post. As an affiliate you earn a 50% commission on any products you sell directly. When a sub affiliate makes a sale, they too will receive the same 50% commission, however, you will receive a further 10% commission on their sale. So, I suggest you click on the banner below and become an affiliate, it is free to join and you can start promoting their products straight away.

Now don’t expect that just by placing this banner on your website you will start earning millions. As you can see above, all the techniques I am trying take time and work.

I would like to say I have bought all of their products as they all look very useful, but there are dozens. So if you do choose to purchase anything from them we would all love your comments on their products. One of their products I thought looked most interesting is their Low Stress Income Affiliate Guide, it’s only $17 and if you have limited knowledge on affiliate marketing, this might be a great place to start.

I have documented in the past the possibilities of making money online through affiliate marketing. Clickbank is probably the biggest website to affiliate with. The options are obviously to be a promoter, purchaser or vendor. Promoting offers you the opportunity to sell other people’s products whilst you receive a commission. Purchaser explains itself. Then there is the vendor that actually produces the products and gets other affiliate marketers to sell their products.

Becoming a Clickbank vendor is something I have been working on for the past couple of weeks and our approval for Poker – The Power of Body Language has just come through. So as an e-book we now have our product listed in the Clickbank marketplace. The aim now is to get our product listed on as many websites as possible. Obviously we are looking for poker sites, but we are hoping affiliate marketers we see the potential for readers being interested in body language in general.

My next mission is to build up interest to Clickbank promoters.

Furthermore, something else I plan to look into is CPA affiliate marketing which is cost per action marketing. I’ve found a site giving away a free tutorial (something else free, we all know what that’s about). So I’ve signed up and will be researching it here:
